RibBeat

RibBeat is a pixelated sidescroller, in which you are a bard frog, who has played the guitar all her life, and in her journey through the world, she discovered an abandoned castle and wanted to explore it! When she entered, the doors behind her closed, and she realized that there is a magical power in the castle! She reaches the last room of the castle, and a door with different colored locks appears in front of her! Immediately the whole castle started to play, the enemies being the instruments that drumBeast controlled! To get out of the castle, she must collect all 3 keys scattered throughout the castle, to get him out of the castle and continue her adventure!

The game is based on repetition, where as combat you have a score with 4 notes in the middle of the screen. To put notes on that score, you have to press tab, where a selection wheel will open with the 7 notes of the guitar and drag and drop the notes! You can choose between major and minor, the difference between them being that majors are bigger and slower, but with a lot of damage, and minors are faster, smaller, but with low damage! Each note has a special attack, creating diversity! The score is crossed by a bar that plays the notes one by one and once it reaches the last note, it starts that score from the beginning! Another characteristic of repetition is the drumBeast. He has a magical power to restart the level from the beginning, just by beating the drums. When the player manages to collect a key, he is teleported to the beginning by the drumBeast, using each drum for all the keys, Blue, Red, Green! These 2 elements, the note combat and the magical beast, are the main features of the loop theme!

       Space - Jump

       Tab - Scroll wheeler for abilities

       Scroll - Navigate thru the abilities major/minor

       Left click - Attack/Choose ability

       Right Click - Choose ability

Enemies: The game has 6 enemies, each with different attacks! The tambourine is the one that patrols the area, the harp is the one that helps its allies through the barrier, the saxophone and trumpet launch projectiles, the double bass is the tank with the highest hp and the triangle is a kamikaze, entering its range, coming quickly towards the player!

Sounds: The guitar was actually recorded by us, and the rest was taken from game sound sites.

Art: For animations and art, we used Aseprite, and we did our models from 0
